Access delegate
An additional person the tenant grants access to the site, with their own credentials and an expiry date.
An access delegate is somebody the tenant authorises to enter the site in their place — a partner, an employee, a courier, a removals firm. The point is that the delegate gets their own access rather than the tenant’s code passed around by text message.
Two things make this work. The delegate’s access carries an end date, so a firm hired for one afternoon does not keep entry for a year. And the operator sees in the panel who has been granted access to which unit, which matters when something goes missing.
An example. A tenant hires a removals company for a Saturday. In the portal they add the firm as a delegate with access valid until Sunday. The firm enters the site, empties the unit, and the access expires by itself — with no code left circulating and nothing for the operator to revoke.
Without delegates, tenants share their own codes, which is how a code ends up written on a piece of paper in a van.
