Operator, 188 units
188 units, their customers and their billing anchors moved in a single night. In the morning the tenants received their gate codes by SMS.
The situation
The operator ran 188 units on a single site in another self-storage package and wanted to move to Boxi without any downtime for tenants. There was one condition: no customer could lose access to their unit or notice a gap in their billing.
What we moved
From the previous system we exported the occupancy of all 188 units, the customer records, the rental contracts and the billing anchors — the day of the month each rental is counted from. The import ran in two stages: a dry run first, to check that the number of units, customers and balances matched, then the real write overnight.
How the switchover day looked
The real import took one night. Boxi issued the gate codes during the import, and in the morning every tenant received their own code by SMS — with no visit to an office and no phone call to the operator.
What changed
Customers book and extend rentals online instead of calling the office. The operator issues and sends gate codes from the Boxi panel rather than by hand. Invoices go automatically into the operator’s accounting system, with no line items retyped.
